For a large share of buyers in Bukit Timah, the schools are the reason for the postcode. This page sets out what sits near The Vanda Green, and — more usefully — how the distance rules actually work, because the difference between one kilometre and 1.02 kilometres is not a rounding error.

Straight-line distances recorded in the land sales data, measured from the site rather than from a specific block. Indicative only — verify with the Ministry of Education OneMap school query tool.
How the Primary One Distance Bands Work
Primary One registration uses three distance bands measured from the child's registered home address to the school: within one kilometre, between one and two kilometres, and beyond two kilometres. Where a phase is oversubscribed, ballot priority runs in that order. Citizenship takes precedence over distance within each phase.
This is where the Methodist Girls' School (Primary) figure needs stating plainly. At 1.02 kilometres, the site falls into the one-to-two kilometre band rather than the within-one-kilometre band. That still carries an advantage over the beyond-two-kilometre group, and it is a real one — but it is not the same as being inside the first band, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling rather than informing.
The measurement is also taken from the specific address, not from the centre of a site. Once the site plan is released and block positions are known, the distance from a particular block may differ from the figure recorded for the parcel. If school admission is driving your purchase, measure from the block before you commit.
The Wider Bukit Timah Catchment
Beyond the immediate ring, the Bukit Timah belt carries one of the densest school concentrations in Singapore across every level — Nanyang Primary, Raffles Girls' Primary, Nanyang Girls' High, Hwa Chong Institution, National Junior College, Ngee Ann Polytechnic and the Singapore University of Social Sciences all sit within the wider district. Distances from this particular site vary and should be checked individually rather than assumed.
Preschool and International Options
Little Paddington Preschool sits roughly 180 metres from the development, and La Petite Ecole Singapore about 580 metres. The development itself carries a planning condition reserving a minimum 600 square metres of its ground-floor commercial provision for an Early Childhood Development Centre, so there will be a childcare option within the development as well — see the amenities page.
Checking Before You Commit
Distance bands, school placements and registration phases change. The Ministry of Education's OneMap school query tool is the authoritative measure and is the one to use before any decision that turns on admission. Nothing on this page substitutes for it.
